A CHILD stuck in a bathroom in Derby was one of the incidents reserve firefighters attended during the 24-hour strike that finished this morning.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said there were 11 incidents the reservists were called out to in the county.
They included one "call for assistance" in Derby where a child was stuck in a bathroom.
A spokesman said that, though crews were sent, they were called back after the child's family said they were no-longer needed.
The others included a barn fire in Ashbourne, attended by three crews.
There was also a fire in the outside ducting of a home in Long Eaton.
A fire service spokeswoman said: "We would like to thank the communities of Derbyshire for taking extra care and helping to prevent emergencies from occurring and ask that everyone remains vigilant and follow fire prevention advice at all times, not just during times of strike action.
"Communities are reminded that further strike action is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 21, from 10am until 5pm, when, once again, the service will be calling upon communities to take extra care."
Crews across Derbyshire took to the picket lines for the walkout yesterday morning at 9am because of a row over pensions.
