DERBY County transfer target George Thorne has had a formal transfer request turned down by West Bromwich Albion.
The Rams recently had a bid of around £1m for the midfielder rejected by the Baggies.
Thorne has made it clear that he sees his future away from the Hawthorns but the Premier League club insist the 21-year-old is not for sale.
West Brom are currently without a manager following the departure of Pepe Mel, with former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood widely expected to be appointed as his successor.
Thorne impressed during a loan spell at Derby during the second half of the 2013-14 campaign and has said he would be open to a permanent move to the iPro Stadium.
