SKIPPER Daryl Mitchell and New Zealander Colin Munro gave Derbyshire plenty to do in their NatWest t20 Blast match at the 3aaa County Ground. Table-topping Worcestershire set a target at 177-5, meaning that the Falcons needed to produce something special to clinch their first victory in this season's competition. Wayne Madsen's magic touch at the toss continued as he won his fifth out of five and his decision to put Worcestershire in looked to have paid off when they took two wickets in the first four overs. Wes Durston began with a wicket-maiden, beating Richard Oliver's attempt to sweep and bowling him third ball. That was the ideal start for the Falcons and it was followed by a skied pull shot at Mark Turner by Tom Kohler-Cadmore (6) which was caught behind the wicketkeeper by Matt Higginbottom at 21-2. But the third-wicket partnership of Munro and Mitchell set the Rapids on a charge, adding 98 in 10 overs. Munro's 50 came off 29 balls and he moved on to 65 before being caught at third man, having hit nine fours and two sixes. That was 119-3 in the 14th over and though the Rapids also lost Alexei Kervezee (25) and Ross Whiteley (0), Mitchell powered to 68 not out off 51 balls with five fours and two sixes to give his side a very good total.
