RESIDENTS in part of Derby have given proposals to build new homes a universal thumbs down.
This morning Derby Homes presented plans to the public for a possible housing development on land between Taddington Road and Wollaton Road, in Chaddesden.
The well-attended event, held at St Phillip's Church Hall, in Taddington Road, saw protesters criticise propsals for up to 23 new homes.
Councillors and officers from the city council were able to speak with locals about possible options for potential housing.
Jean Iceton, 47, of Wilson Road, said: "No-one living close to this wants housing on this land."
And Susan Gretton, 67, also of Wilson Road, said: "There should be somehting on that green space for young people, not new homes."
