KEDLESTON Hall is rumoured to be playing host to cast and crew from Hollywood this week for the filming of a new movie. It is understood that the attraction will be playing host to Tarzan, starring Alexander Skarsgard, Samuel L Jackson and Margot Robbie. An insider has told the Derby Telegraph about the preparations for the filming that will mean the hall and grounds will be closed to the public until Friday. The source said: "They've cleared out some of the rooms entirely and put their own furniture in them. "It looks totally different to how it does normally. "They've also put down special protective flooring so as not to damage the wood." According to the insider at Kedleston, the actors have been rehearsing over the weekend and filming is due to start todayMON. It is believed that the hall will be the home of Tarzan's mother and the scenes shot there this week will show the currently unknown actress for the role returning with the children. Twitter rumours have been rife, with Warner Bros trucks being seen around Derby and one user saying the roof of the hall would be used for filming. Harry Potter veteran David Yates is directing the film and Hollywood sources also suggest Djimon Hounsou, of Gladiator fame, has been added to the cast. Online forums suggest Skarsgard plays the ape-man after he has left the jungle and settled in London, only to be called back into action at the request of Queen Victoria to investigate some "dodgy dealings" at a mine. Samuel L Jackson plays a comrade, Christoph Waltz a villain and Hounsou is playing Chief Mbonga. It is not known whether or not any of the stars are due to be in Derbyshire for the shoot. Created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the title character first appeared in the novel Tarzan of the Apes in 1912. There were 25 sequels, three authorised books by other authors, and innumerable works in other media. A 3D animated movie about Tarzan was released last year. This latest film is scheduled to hit cinemas from July 2016.
