ONE person is in hospital with a "serious" head injury after a collision between two vehicles in Allestree in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Three people had to be cut free, by fire crews from Kingsway and Duffield stations, from the wreckage of the two vehicles following the head-on incident on the A6 close to the Palm Court island just after 2am.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said: "One person was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre with a serious head injury but it is believed the other two people had minor injuries but were taken to hospital to be checked out.
"We are continuing to investigate the cause of the incident."
