Non-League round-up: Graham Street Prims' FA Vase run ends at AFC Rushden & Diamonds

GRAHAM Street Prims' impressive FA Vase run was ended by a 2-0 defeat at AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Prims, from the East Midlands Counties League, were in the game right until the end of Saturday's third round tie. The Derbyshire visitors, watched by a crowd of 563, went behind just before the break, when Matt Gearing struck for the United Counties League Premier Division side. It took until added time at the end of the match for Diamonds to seal their passage into the last 32, when substitute Deven Ellwood netted a second. There was victory for Matlock Town in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division as they won 3-2 at home to Trafford. New signing Shaun Tuton, Micky Harcourt and James Ashmore got the Gladiators' goals. Ilkeston's poor run continued as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Whitby Town. Mickleover Sports beat local rivals Gresley 3-2 in the Evo-Stik League First Division South. Warren Hatfield, Karl Demidh and Ashley Grayson were on target for Sports, with Rob Spencer and Lucas Harrison replying for the Moatmen. Belper Town came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Newcastle Town. Jon Froggatt netted a penalty before Richard Adams secured a point for the Nailers. Long Eaton United are through to the third round of the Derbyshire Senior Cup thanks to a 1-0 victory over Dronfield Town. Blaine Hancock's 10th-minute strike settled the tie and the Blues will travel to Chesterfield in the last 16. In the Northern Counties East League Premier Division, Heanor Town went down 2-0 at Tadcaster Albion. In the East Midlands Counties League, Holbrook Sports won 3-1 at home to Barrow Town.
