A MASKED armed robber threatened a village shop worker with a knife before stealing fleeing empty handed.
A man entered Stretton Village Store, in Main Street, Stretton, just after 12.15pm on Wednesday, pulled out the knife and demanded the cash.
Police say as he entered the store the offender placed sunglasses on his head and he wore a mask.
No money was handed over and the raider left, heading down Main Street towards Station Walk.
The male shop assistant was not injured and told detectives the robber was 6ft tall, thin and had black hair.
He was in his mid-20s and was wearing a black hooded top, dark-coloured trousers and trainers.
