Three men have appeared in court in connection with the deaths of Derbyshire student Neil Dalton and his friend in Borneo.
The fourth suspect is scheduled to be produced in court for remand.
Reports from Malaysia have said that the police have finished their investigation after the four men admitted their crime. They face the death penalty if formally convicted in court.
Malaysia's The Star newspaper reported the main suspect was a 23-year-old fishmonger. It said the others were a 29-year-old mechanic and two unemployed men aged 19 and 35.
Police in Borneo said they would be passing on their evidence to the prosecution.
Neil and his friend, Aidan Brunger, both 22-year-old Newcastle University students, were stabbed to death outside a bar in the Kuching area of Borneo at around 4am on Tuesday.
The pair were on a six-week hospital placement with five other students when it is thought they were attacked by a group of men.
Belper Amateurs Cricket Club have expressed huge sadness and regret at the tragic death.
Neil was a player at Belper Amateurs since childhood, a stalwart of more than 100 matches.
Secretary Pip Nightingale said: "Words can't describe the devastation this tragedy has caused to everybody within our club.
"Neil and many of our players grew up together - through school and cricket - and have such a strong friendship unit.
"He was a gentleman and a scholar whose trademark red hair was accompanied by a sense of humour second to none.
"He represented the club over 100 times, opening the batting at every level from under-15s right up to First XI, until his academic career took precedence over his amateur cricket.
"We're all feeling this loss immensely and our hearts go out to his family."
Derbyshire Cricket Board Cricket Development Manager Mick Glenn added: "This is a tragedy for local cricket and more importantly for Neil's friends and family. We'll do everything we can to support them during this tremendously difficult time."
Derbyshire Police confirmed that family liaison officers were working with Neil's family.
The Borneo Post, an English-language newspaper and website has reported that a candlelit vigil is due to take place in Kuching tonight.
And it has also reported how floral tributes from locals have been steadily arriving at the scene where the two men lost their lives.
