Highways chiefs have pledged to finish the remaining roadworks at the Little Eaton island by the August bank holiday and will also lift lane restrictions on the Markeaton roundabout over that weekend.
The completion of the Little Eaton work before the end of next week will bring to an end a long running saga that has been plagued by problems, including weeks of delays because crayfish had to be moved from a brook running close to the work.
The current work at the Markeaton island is causing disruption due to lane closures on the approaches to the roundabout and temporary speed limits that are also in force.
All these restrictions will be lifted by 6am on Friday, August 22, and will not be put back in place until the early hours of Tuesday, August 26.
