Comic fans wielding fake weapons as part of their costumes for a convention in Derby have caused panic in Derby.
A Derbyshire police spokeswoman said there had been two "major incidents" that she was aware of but that there could have been more.
The people in fancy dress were attending J-Con, the East Midland's largest Anime and Manga convention, which is happening today on Pride Park.
The police spokeswoman said: "They've been running around with all sorts of replica weapons.
"We've obviously investigated but, when we've found the people involved, the weapons turned out to be fake - just a bit of fun.
"From a distance though, they didn't look like fun."
She said officers had spoken with those involved and that no further action would be taken.
