BBC Radio One DJ Chris Stark in Derby this week for a student gig

BBC Radio One DJ Chris Stark will be in Derby this week to spoin records for an annual student night. The 27-year-old, best known for his work on the Scott Mills show, will be playing at intu Derby's Student Lockdown on Tuesday. He will be joined by Ministry of Sound and The Coffee House Sessions featuring Josh Kumra, who will all be bringing the party vibe to the centre with live sets throughout the evening. For that one night only, from 7pm to 10pm, students can take advantage of exclusive discounts of up to 20% off from retailers including Topshop, Schuh, All Saints, Oasis and HMV. Derby Theatre will also be on hand to provide entertainment while the Showcase Cinema de Lux will be hosting a free screening of brand new comedy drama Pride. Tania Vesty, marketing manager at intu Derby, said: "Last year's Student Lockdown was hugely successful with over 4,500 students attending, so we decided to bring it back this year bigger and better than before! "We're so excited to welcome such a great line-up to the centre on Tuesday—they're sure to provide the perfect soundtrack to the ultimate student experience. "With late-night shopping across many of your favourite retailers and a whole host of offers in store, students are bound to bag themselves a great bargain." Wristbands for the event cost £2 each with all proceeds going to support When You Wish Upon a Star. Wristbands are available to buy in advance at the customer service desk at intu Derby. Alternatively, students at the University of Derby can gain entry by showing their Freshers' wristband upon arrival The centre's restaurants and cinema will be open to the public as normal.
