CHRIS Martin felt Derby County took out their frustration on Charlton Athletic at the iPro Stadium on Saturday.
The Rams had suffered a last-gasp defeat away to Ipswich Town in their previous outing, having taken an early lead.
Steve McClaren's men hit back with a 3-0 victory over relegation-threatened Charlton.
A strong first-half display laid the foundations for the win, with strikes from Johnny Russell and Patrick Bamford sending Derby into the break two goals up.
Charlton rallied after the interval but Martin headed a third for the hosts six minutes from time - his 19th goal of the season.
"We were very disappointed after the Ipswich game as we thought we'd done enough to win it," he said.
"We felt we dominated most of the game but gave away a couple of sloppy goals.
"I think you saw in the first 20-25 minutes against Charlton that we took out our frustration on them.
"We swarmed all over them. We pressed them high up the field and won the ball.
"We were very good and I think we had a little bit too much for them in the first half.
"I think that was key to getting the victory. We got two goals in front and it could have been more before the break.
"That was where the game was won."
