ADAM McGurk's first-half winner made it three 1-0 wins on the trot for Burton Albion as they bagged all the points at Plymouth Argyle in League Two.
McGurk scored in the 12th minute, his eighth goal of the season, and the Brewers battled hard to keep a clean sheet.
Meanwhile, both Alfreton Town and Gresley bowed out in the FA Trophy first round.
Evo-Stik Division One South side Gresley gave a good account of themselves at Skrill Conference Premier Wrexham but lost 2-1.
The Welsh club established a 2-0 lead before Royce Turville pulled a goal back for Gresley in the 84th minute.
Alfreton lost 1-0 at home to fellow Skrill Conference Premier side Nuneaton Town.
A brilliant free-kick by Louis Moult, who had a loan spell with the Reds, gave Nuneaton the win. He curled the ball in from 25 yards in the 53rd minute.
