Derby County duo play 90 minutes for Ireland as Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal prove too hot to handle

DERBY County duo Richard Keogh and Jeff Hendrick both played 90 minutes as the Republic of Ireland were beaten 5-1 by Portugal in the United States. The unfortunate Keogh scored an own goal at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, deflecting Fabio Coentrao's cross into the net after Hugo Almeida had headed Portugal into an early lead. Almeida made it 3-0 at half-time, set up by Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldom who confirmed his fitness ahead of the World Cup following knee and thigh injuries. James McClean's first strike for his country gave the Republic hope seven minutes after the break but substitute Vierinha struck 12 minutes from time and Coentrao added a fifth.Rams defender Keogh earned his fifth international cap, while midfielder Hendrick picked up his seventh.
