A DERBYSHIRE terminal cancer suffer will appear on national television on Friday to condemn the decision to withdraw availability to a "vital" drug.

Hayley Kalinins has been booked on both BBC Breakfast and Good Morning Britain to voice her opinion about cutting the drug Kadcyla, which she takes.

The NHS drugs watchdog is expected to reject its use on costs grounds. The drug, which can add months to the life of women dying of breast cancer, costs £90,000 for a course of treatment.

Hayley, of Borrowash, first found out she had breast cancer in July 2011, before being told it had spread to her liver and then her lungs.

The 33-year-old mother-of-four said: "I don't understand how they can put a figure on somebody's life?

"It's devastating. This decision will shorten people's lives."

Hayley said the drug has given her a much improved quality of life, allowing her to spend time with her children and go on holiday.

She is going through her fifth different type of chemotherapy.

She said: "This drug gives me very limited side effects and allows me to maintain my lovely lifestyle."

She said she is excited at the chance to appear on television to talk about the topic.

She said: "I'm a bit nervous but yes, I'm looking forward to it."

Hayley has a three year-old daughter, two sons, aged six and eight, and her 13-year-old daughter.
